'นักบวชอิสลาม' มีรากฐานจากซูฟี การบวชอิสลามที่แท้จริงไม่ใช่เพียงการถือศีลอดอาหาร แต่ต้องรู้จักการ ตะซาววุฟ และ 'Zuhd' (บำเพ็ญตบะ) บวกกับหมั่น 'Dhikr' (รำลึกถึงพระเจ้า) 
และสามารถเข้าสมาธิบรรลุ 'Haqiqåt' (ความรู้ลึกลับจากพระเจ้า) 
แล้วบรรลุสัจธรรมขั้นสูงสุดที่เรียกว่า 'Marifa' ด้วยการตระหนักถึงการดำรงอยู่ของพระผู้เป็นเจ้า ('Haqiqat al-Dhat', 'Dhat Allah')

แม้อุลามาอฺบางท่านจะถูกมองว่าเป็น 'นักบวช' แต่ถ้าจะเปรียบกับศาสนาอื่นก็ต้องแยกให้ชัด คำว่า 'พระ' ไว้ใช้เรียกนักบวชพุทธ ถ้าคริสต์ก็บาทหลวง ถ้าอิสลามส่วนมากจะเรียกว่า 'มุลลอฮ์' 

นักบวชอิสลามในภาษาอังกฤษคือ 'Islamic cleric' อิสลามมีนักบวชที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นผู้ชี้นำศรัทธา เทศนา และตัดสินข้อเท็จจริงตามหลักกฎหมายอิสลาม 

ส่วนคนที่ไม่เข้าใจรากฐานการบวชอิสลาม บางคนอาจบอกว่าอิสลามไม่มีนักบวช ซึ่งไม่ถูกต้องเพราะไม่เข้าใจแก่นแท้ของการบวชอิสลามที่แท้จริง"

The spiritual lineage of Eurasia of Prince Oakley Papa and the Mystic Saint Khidr is still intact.
